Here are some of the advantages of a 2 stroke engine. They do not have valves, simplifying their construction. They have the potential for about twice the power in the same size because they fire once every revolution ( 4 stroke engines fire once every other revolution). This gives 2 stroke engines a significant power boost.
Now here are some of the disadvantages. 2 stroke engines don’t last as long as a 4 stroke engine, this is due to the fact of not having a lubrication system. This means that the internal parts of a 2 stroke engine wear out quicker. 2 stroke engines require a mix of gas and oil to lubricate the crankshaft, connecting rod, and cylinder walls. With each new mix of air and fuel injected into the combustion chamber, a small part of it leaks out through the exhaust port, which means that 2 stroke engines are less fuel efficient. This yields less miles per gallon, and creates more pollution than 4 stroke engines. Also, 2 stroke engines burn oil, so the exhaust stinks.

You have 2 options when buying a small engine for custom applications, You have 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines. Now also take into consideration I’m comparing small 2 and 4 stroke engines, Not a car 4 stroke or a large Caterpillar, or Detroit 2 stroke. I’ll get into those later.
Here’s a few thing about 2 stroke engines. One you have to mix 2 cycle oil with gas to achieve the right ratio for the lubrication of the piston. Two a 2 stroke engines (in theory) can produce twice as much power as the same size 4 stroke at the same revs, but uses more fuel.
Here’s a few things about 4 stroke engines. One they run a lot cooler and therefore use a lot less fuel. Two you don’t have to mix oil with gas for piston lubrication which makes its easier on the owner to fuel their engine.

I remember when laptops first came out. The cheapest you could get one for was around $2,000 dollars. I just found a brand new laptop for $300 and another one specially designed for kids for $100 dollars. Only down fall to either of these two laptops was the fact that the screen is 7 inchs.
I also found for $70 more you could get a 15 inch screen laptop with almost all the bells and whistles, all this at Electronic Express. It just makes me wonder what a new laptop now will be worth in 2 years.

It has been a while since I have been on the Internet. Somehow, it always seems that there has been one barrier or another in my path to get “connected.” It has been five long years since I have had a connection to the web in my own home. Oh, I have been able to access the Internet in those years, but, it has always been at someone else’s house, or at the library, or a myriad of other places that I go to check e-mail or the like.
Now, however, I am sitting at my desktop, at my own home, doing a little dance in my head. The reason for the little dance is because I have an Internet connection. I am surfing the web. I am looking up information that I have previously had no access to. Ah, the power of this age of technology. I am a happy camper.

Video games have come a long way since Atari. I went over to my neighbors house a few days ago and sitting there, underneath a large HDTV was the holy of all hollies, the PlayStation3. Now, I like the XBOX360, it is an amazing machine, but I have been a PlayStation fan since the first CD console came out. When these new 3rd generation machines hit the market they were so expensive my mind just shut down and blanked them out of reality. I believe that this was in the hope that it would not take long for this new technology to come down in price.
When they first came out the PlayStation3 was $599 for the ultimate package with eighty gig hard drive, Blue Ray capability, and a wireless controller that is motion sensitive. The XBOX360 elite package came with a hundred and twenty gig hard drive, free three month XBOX live subscription, controller, headset, and two video games for $499. Since then, both companies, have only come down in price once. Microsoft has dropped their price by $50 dollars. Sony has gone down by $100. This leaves their prices at $499 for the PlayStation3 and $449 for the XBOX360. These are not the price cuts that I was hoping for a year and a half later. I guess I will have to wait until Christmas to buy one which is when the next price drop will probably take place.
